Exciting news in the world of dentistry: students at the Ivory Tower School of Dentistry are now drilling into the future—literally! Thanks to a breakthrough in 3D printing technology, dental educators are rolling out life-like, perfectly inaccurate 3D printed teeth for endodontic training. The program, dubbed “Print & Drill,” promises to usher in a new era of cavity-free classroom trauma.

“Our previous practice jars full of cow teeth were both unsustainable and, frankly, suspiciously delicious,” said Dr. Flo S. Pasteur, head of the Endodontics Department. “Now our students can finally work on something that only vaguely resembles human teeth, which is probably good enough for most patients anyway.”

The new 3D printed teeth boast advanced features, including pre-installed, artificially blocked root canals, hidden bonus nerves, and the occasional unexplainable third root—just to keep things spicy. Sources confirm that 18% of the teeth have been printed with “built-in impossible cases” to simulate what educators call “the classic Tuesday patient.”

Students are torn. “It’s great to not smell like old cheese after class,” reported first-year student Molly Incisor, “but my 3D molar randomly ejects tiny cubes of filament. Is that normal, or am I failing already?”

Proponents argue this new technology is a much-needed modernization, but detractors warn of “printer jam PTSD” and the possibility that students will unwittingly install USB ports into their patients’ mouths.

Despite minor technical glitches (last week a student accidentally performed a root canal on a 3D printed car key), the movement is gaining steam. The faculty is hopeful, with Dr. Pasteur concluding, “If our students can successfully navigate these abstract plastic puzzles, imagine what they’ll do on real people. We probably won’t have to order too many extra dentures.”

In unrelated news, Apple has announced the iTooth: a smart tooth that can stream Spotify when you chew.
