**Three Scottish Brothers Set World Record for Fastest Pacific Row, Still Can’t Agree on Whose Turn It Is to Do the Dishes**

In news bound to make both Neptune and every Scottish mum proud, three Scottish brothers have set a new world record for the fastest row across the Pacific Ocean, finishing in less than two months and landing in a destination that definitely did *not* serve haggis upon arrival.

The MacGregor brothers—Finlay, Angus, and Hamish—have become instant nautical legends, partly because of their speed, and mostly because their accents confused dolphins for several hundred nautical miles. When asked how they kept up their morale during the journey, Hamish explained, “Every time we got annoyed at each other, we imagined the other was a giant sea cucumber. It’s hard to stay mad, honestly.”

Breaking the previous record by several days, the lads attribute their success to “years of arm wrestling in pubs and a childhood spent running away from sheep.” They went through 387 gallons of water, 162 cans of beans, and exactly one emergency copy of *The Proclaimers’ Greatest Hits*, which only got them from mile one to mile two.

Challenges at sea included handling 10-foot waves, a sudden shortage of Tunnock’s Teacakes, and heated debates about whether Nessie would have made a better rowboat. “She’s got the neck for steering!” insisted Angus, whose navigation privileges have since been revoked.

Their mother, upon hearing of their feat, immediately asked, “That’s lovely dears, but have you remembered to call your granny?” The brothers declined to comment but are reportedly still arguing about who should do chores now that they’re home. (Finlay claims the record should count as “at least a year off dish duty.”)

Rumor has it they’re now aiming for the Atlantic, unless the family goldfish gets first dibs on the boat.

Stay tuned, and remember: never challenge a Scottish sibling to a rowing contest—or dishwashing.
