Early Wednesday, local authorities responded to complaints about strange noises and a faint scent of cheeseburgers wafting up from a manhole cover. What they found was a man who, despite having nothing to lose (not even clothes), insisted he was “just vibing” and didn’t “need rescuin’.” One brave rescuer described the scene: “He greeted us with the greeting of his people—hissing and gnashing teeth.
