**MARTA CEO Steps Down Amid Immigration Status Scandal; Commuters Fear Trains May Now Miss More Than Just Schedules**

Atlanta’s beloved transit agency, MARTA, is once again in the headlines—this time with more plot twists than a rush-hour breakdown announcement. In a move that surprised exactly three people (all of whom were waiting on the northbound train, which still hasn’t arrived), MARTA’s CEO has stepped down following revelations about their “complicated” immigration status. Sources say the CEO’s history was concealed better than a forgotten Charlie Card under the floor mats.

“We can’t have someone steering our trains if they might not even be allowed to leave the station,” sighed MARTA board member Linda Busy-Bee. She added, “We prefer our leadership to have visas just as valid as our train transfer tickets—which, full disclosure, only work half the time.”

Riders expressed mixed reactions. Regular commuter Tyrone Sighs-a-lot said, “So you’re telling me the CEO’s immigration papers are as unreliable as the Five Points escalators? Shocking.” Others wondered if this meant the end of unexpected fare hikes and mysterious ‘service interruptions,’ but were promptly told, “No,” by a MARTA employee asleep in the breakroom.

The embattled CEO released a brief statement: “I wanted to speed up the trains, not the deportation proceedings. I hope MARTA continues to go places—or at least tries.”

The board is expected to replace the CEO with either another transit professional, or a literal peach pit found in the station lobby, which officials noted “still has better documentation so far.” Federal agents are now attempting to verify the CEO’s last boarding location but have gotten lost somewhere on the Blue Line.

Meanwhile, MARTA remains committed to “moving Atlanta forward”—even if it’s just to the next federal hearing.
