**BREAKING: Royal and US Carrier Force Holds Very Expensive Pool Party in Timor Sea, Confuses Fish**

In what experts are calling an “epic flex of floating metal,” the United States Navy and Royal Navy carrier groups have come together for a totally casual, not-at-all-provocative get-together in the Timor Sea. The flotilla, which could invade roughly half of Instagram at once, is reportedly engaged in “routine operations,” which is military code for “see what we’ve got, and also, fancy a spot of tea?”

Eyewitnesses (mainly bewildered fish and at least one jealous dolphin) described the scene: “It was like suddenly the neighborhood got ten new, really rich neighbors, all blasting music and playing with expensive toys—helicopters, fighter jets, and the world’s largest collection of inflatable rafts.”

According to sources, allied sailors are working hard to show unity, swapping biscuits for cheap coffee and arguing endlessly over whether The Queen’s English is just a fancy way of spelling “flavor” incorrectly. Fighter jets from HMS Queen Elizabeth and the impeccably named USS Gerald R. Ford are taking turns making sonic booms and drawing rude shapes in the sky, while naval chefs war over whose fish and chips pair best with high-octane jet fuel.

Officials insist the operation is simply about “ensuring maritime stability,” which apparently requires $20 billion worth of steel to temporarily block Balinese sunsets and send a subtle 100,000-ton message to anyone else in the region who might be thinking about annexing a sandbar.

As the carriers depart, local marine life reportedly plans to host its own peace summit: “Operation Squidstock”—headlined by the Barracuda Brothers and DJ Jellyfish—because if humans can throw a party in the Timor Sea, so can the fish.
