**UN Report Finds United Nations Reports Are Not Widely Read**

In shocking news that has absolutely no impact on anyone’s day-to-day life, a newly released United Nations report revealed that United Nations reports are, in fact, not widely read. The 387-page document, painstakingly compiled over six years and translated into 38 languages, found that only four people—three of them interns—have actually read any of these reports cover to cover.

“We wanted to know what impact our comprehensive analyses were having on world affairs,” explained Dr. Ingrid Page-Turner, lead author of the report, during a sparsely attended press conference. “After years of exhaustive research and several existential crises, we concluded that most world leaders prefer executive summaries, tweet-length updates, or interpretive dance recaps over reading the reports themselves.”

The findings have sent shockwaves throughout the organization’s report-writing departments, where panic buying of highlighters and brave attempts at jazzier fonts are now rampant.

The UN is also responding with bold new initiatives. “Starting next quarter, all our future reports will be released exclusively as TikTok videos and, in some cases, as dramatic interpretive puppet shows,” said a UN spokesperson. “We’re quite confident engagement will skyrocket, or at least mildly hop.”

Critics argue the UN should have known something was amiss when the exclusive ‘UN Reports E-Book Club’ had fewer subscribers than a MySpace fan page for fax machines. One anonymous diplomat admitted, “I’ve been using those reports to balance my desk for years.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Page-Turner remains optimistic: “Even if no one reads them, our reports are vital. Where else would world diplomats find 200-page appendices on Icelandic volcanic ash dispersal patterns? Certainly not on Instagram.”
