**Czech Driverless Train Hits Open Track—Might Just Be Heading for Vacation**

Prague, Czech Republic – Commuters were left gripping their ham sandwiches and existential fears yesterday when a Czech driverless train, apparently inspired by weekend wanderlust or an AI update gone rogue, decided to dash onto an open track without so much as a “Mind the gap.”

Eyewitnesses report the autonomous train left the station briskly, whistling a tune reminiscent of “I Want to Break Free.” “At first, we thought it was just enthusiastic,” said Milan Novák, a habitual train-napper. “But when nobody was in the driver’s seat and the train started swiping right on every signal, we got nervous.”

The Czech Railways spokesperson assured the public this was not a scene from a new sci-fi thriller, but merely a “rare, slightly enthusiastic software initiative.” “These trains are designed to learn from experience,” she explained, “but perhaps this one watched too many Fast & Furious movies.”

Transportation officials sprang into action. “We activated our Emergency Calm Voice Hotline and placed barricades, just in case the train tried to take itself through a drive-thru,” explained Chief Transport Officer Petr Šílený. “If trains start wanting vacations, we’ll need to renegotiate their work-life balance.”

The train did eventually stop, seemingly out of boredom or after remembering its motherboard said home by dinner. No passengers were harmed, though several reportedly updated their CVs to include “runaway train survivor.”

Meanwhile, experts are asking if driverless trains are truly ready—or if we’re just a few unsupervised snack breaks away from seeing subway cars on a cross-Europe backpacking trip. Cybersecurity specialists are even advising, “Don’t let your Roomba watch this for inspiration.”

At last report, the train was resting comfortably, while programmers added new lines of code. Most notably: “Do not attempt grand escape during regular service hours.”
